my xt go shop for wipe shut down on ccsforever

no power button on front when 5 year plays abc games

Well after 2 weeks of restoring and buying a 40.00 pc mechinic which dell said I need to fix my xt its down again.

Was running cccsforever on xt running vise with abc game going,  5 year old kathryn going strong but the on and off switch on front on this computer.  Well she was moveing around alot that day and off it went running strong.  the hard drive was never the same.  Be on windows online and it would lock up  Nothing sames to fix so it gos back to shop to be wiped and new xt re installed because with all its update it keeps stopping windows saying older version of windows.  Yes I know newer none working version on it.  It acts like my new windows 7 unit I sold to my son for half want I paid.

Hmmm. I can power off my C64 when it's running a game or app. without any problems. Too bad modern day PCs aren't as rugged. ;o)

The shop replaced the hard drive the shut down put a bad place on it. He put in used drive 2 times bigger and xp again running fine, put ccs back on it still a lot of software to go, But all my commodore stuff back on it , do the rest later play with my commodores most of the time.
Good deal only 34.00 dollors, Its nice knowing a computer shop.

I am sorry to hear about that! I been through that myself I use Windows 2000 Pro. Sp4 and as for VICE and CCS64s Beta 3.9 They run fine its Explorer and all the other IBM Junk you need to access the Inet like Flash from adobe I get told to get a upgrade but I ignore those threats even the Hackers the bad ones! I see they moved on as I don't get viruses from them just old ones I have a stopper for them so my PC is quiet and using Vice for Inet (I'd rather boot up my C128 and go 64 mode and place V-1541 in the drive and get on here. My Comet 64 doesn't agree with my set up using Hughes with Cisco's Valet! but I hope to have that figured out soon!
I am Retired Military and a Ex-Mechanic run Magic Repair well I still do a job now and then but mostly on old Vehicles. Also ASE certified! Went to their school in the 80's to fix Transmissions the other school was Ford so I know a bit about automatic transmissons. In the Military I was a Heavy Industrial Desiel and Gas Mechanic so I can get by
