The 128 seemed like the obvious successor to the 64 but whilst it benefitted from the vast 64 library it's other two OSs were almost completely unsupported. The Z80 CPU couldn't cut it with contemporaries and most CPM software was incompatible with the 128. The much improved BASIC looked great in the switchable 80 column mode but it was difficult to find a monitor that would display it properly. Sadly it is not really feasible to connect the 128 to a modern monitor in 80 column mode.
