I'm so bad, I should be in detention.

Not the best week, but oh well.

A tale of loss and woe, and of newfound love (of my Comet64).

It would appear we have a thief at the hotel I work at. Most of my Commodore cabling, my 1750, my beefy C64 power supply, my SD cards, joysticks, Commodore paddles, and misc other things were stolen last week. I think the paddles hurt me the most, followed by the 1750. Everything else is easily replaceable.

That really hurt. The worst part is that I'm almost positive it was taken for the copper in the wires, and nothing more.

On the up side, I finished assembling my Comet64, and it works a treat! I posted some pics on my facebook page again, starting with this one:

I've drug out my code I've been toying with, and fixed some nasty errors, and work is progressing smoothly, albeit slowly. Sadly, I've got a lot of other stuff I need to take care of before I can devote more time to it.

Oh, and I was wrong; apparently I didn't fool goog when I whined about receiving a 'bag of parts' when I ordered the kit. Oh well, it was still funny. :-D

Ouch. Not good new at all. My condolences to you on your losses. I'm assuming it's an employee that took your stuff - that is, the theft took place at night, after closing.

Well, I work at a hotel in downtown Superior, WI (Is there such a thing?). There's a growing meth problem here, which means cabling gets stolen a lot for the copper - even if it's just cords from appliances... The bag I had the booty in had all the cabling on top, which is why I assume that's the reason it was taken. I trust my cow-orkers here, they're pretty stand-up people.

It hurt a lot at first, but I'm mostly over it. Life goes on. The person who took the items has already got a rough life, and it's going to remain that way most likely. I can get more stuff much easier than they're going to shake their addiction.
